Stop Talking and Start Listening: How Social Profiles Can Help Businesses Grow

As a digital marketing consultant, my goal is to educate business owners and marketing executives on the importance of having a strategic online presence. The biggest challenge I face is finding a way to educate without trying too hard to preach my beliefs. Even though I strongly believe in what I do, and the results that digital marketing strategies can bring to a company’s bottom line, I find myself spending most of my time trying to break down barriers and walls that have been built against the Internet on a purely conceptual level. People seem to be hesitant to put resources to work in the digital space. While it is the new frontier, and relatively untested from a global standpoint, we can actually see big name brands flourishing due to their willingness to risk those dollars and resources. Companies that are able to recognize how media consumption is changing will be the ones that stand the test of time.

Niche Marketing Strategies For Tutoring Businesses Looking To Attract Senior Citizens

For years, we’ve heard about the graying of our population from the baby boom years. Our current class of senior citizens inductees (the population born during the Baby Boom after World War II from 1946 to 1964) is going to make up close to 20% percent of the total US population by 2029 according to the US Census Bureau. What often goes unmentioned is that this mature population also controls one of the largest percentages of disposable income. Is Today a Good Time to Go Into Business?

When to start a new business, is often the question asked when you are looking to invest your money into a business opportunity or franchise. Today’s market seems dubious at best. What should you do? How do you know if it is a good time to start a new business? These are some of the questions that come up as a new franchisee or business opportunity seeker has the inclination to start a new business. The Business search usually begins with the internet. The internet shows you that there are over 3500 different business available, with dozens of new businesses showing up monthly. You might find a site such as bizbuysell or franchise gator. These sites attract thousands of viewers monthly and offer you advertisements and a place to fill out your information. Once you do this you are forwarded information on the various business interests you may have.

When you see a business or franchise that you like, the fear creeps in. Your mind starts to go into survivor mode and the questions begin. Can I do it? Will people come to my business? Am I going to loose everything? Over and over these negative thoughts are played out and eventually you stop your search and loose your dream. This, in my opinion is a tragedy! No matter what time of year, what the economy, what is in the news, Today as well as any day, is a Great day to find a new business. I am not suggesting that you jump into the first one you see; of course you should do your due diligence. I am however saying that there are reasons in any economy that offer hindrances to your success. When looking for a new business, you will need to put on your armor, to withstand the negative energy that you receive from the media, magazines, and well meaning friends and family.

Today, as I stated before, Hundreds of New businesses will begin this month. New Franchises and Business will begin operations this week. Times have changed. Financing is harder to get, and people are spending less money. You still can find a business that caters to the changes! If we don’t change with the times, we will fail, and when we find that Right Niche, we SUCCEED.

The Changing Role of the CIO

Many business executives fail to see the unique strategic contributions that CIOs can bring, due in large part to the commoditization of general IT knowledge. As a company’s understanding of information technology becomes more and more ubiquitous, the value placed on tactical IT knowledge continues to diminish. Because of this, CIOs may find themselves being pushed out of executive decision-making roles in favor of business savvy CFOs or process oriented COOs (Chief Operating Officers).
